Preseason Paperwork: All players must turn in a completed PIAA CIPPE packet on the first day of tryouts in order to participate. The physical must be dated after June 1 2018. NOTE: Not having your completed paperwork is not an acceptable excuse for missing practice.
Each player must bring their equipment to every practice. Equipment includes field hockey stick, running shoes, cleats, shinguards, water bottle and MOST IMPORTANTLY a mouthguard and goggles. Every player MUST have a mouthguard and goggles at every practice in order to participate. According to the rules of our leagues the mouthguard must be a color, it cannot be clear. You must have legal goggles or else you will not participate in practice. Field hockey goggles must have the front vertical bars. Below is a list of legal goggles. Not having a mouthguard or the correct goggles is not an acceptable excuse for missing tryouts. Each player should also bring their own water bottle to each practice.

Team Selection:
The number of spots on Varsity and/or JV will be determined based on how many girls participate in tryouts. JUST BECAUSE YOU MADE THE TEAM LAST YEAR DOES NOT GAURANTEE A SPOT THIS YEAR.
Team Selections based on:
During preseason, the coaches will be assessing each player’s attitude, coachability, effort, fitness, and skill. These factors will be considered when deciding if a player has made the team, and if so, on which team she will be placed. Any significant changes in a player’s attitude, effort, or skill can always result in the possibility of mobility between teams, either upward or downward. The best players no matter their grade or previous team experience will make the varsity and junior varsity teams. This year is a new year so each girl needs to show the coaches why they deserve to make varsity or junior varsity. Just because you made the team last year does not guarantee a s spot this year.

· Be vocal during scrimmages (call for the ball, direct your teammates, and communicate clearly)
· Make eye contact with your teammates and coaches
· Hit every ball with purpose
