SCHOOL DESCRIPTION: Pope John Paul II High School is a Catholic High School affiliated with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, located in Royersford, PA. PJPII is a PIAA member school and competes within the Pioneer Athletic Conference.
JOB SUMMARY: Perform coaching and related administrative duties during the 2017-2018 season for Pope John Paul II High School.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: -Must have up-to-date clearances. -Available between the hours of 2:00 PM-10:00 PM during the season (night games may be scheduled in some sports) -Supervise the team during all team activities: practices, games- including riding bus to away contests, and other team events. -Manage Assistant Coaches and Team Managers (Head Coach). -Manage inventory and uniforms with the aid of the Athletic Director. -Assess equipment and uniform needs and order equipment on a given budget. -Oversee and supervise facility usage (locker room, athletic wing, practice area) and inspect facilities daily. -Attend mandatory conference and PIAA preseason, seeding, and post-season meetings as scheduled. -Complete mandatory PIAA concussion-wise training and cardiac-wise training (online). -Attend mandatory school functions (Preseason Parent Meeting, Open House, Community Service). -Communicate via school provided contact with students, parents, and PJPII. -Adhere to procedures presented in the PJPII Athletic Handbook and PIAA Handbook.
QUALIFICATIONS: -1 year previous high school coaching and/ or teaching experience. -Collegiate athletic or coaching experience preferred. -Thorough knowledge of high school rules and regulations pertaining to sport. -Knowledge of PIAA Handbook, Constitution and Bylaws. -Ability to effectively lead and instruct student-athletes.
