Girls Basketball
Tryout Information

TRYOUT INFORMATION FOR ALL LEVELS

Athletic Department Required Forms:
  • All candidates must have the necessary physical forms to be handed to the Head Coach on first day of tryouts.  If basketball is the first sport that a candidate is participating in during the 2017-2018 school year, please complete the PIAA CIPPE Physical Packet and provide a physical dated after June 1, 2017.  If a candidate has participated in a Fall sport during the 2017-2018 school year, then a re-certification form must be turned in to the head coach on the first day of tryouts.
Girls Basketball General Information:
  • All candidates must be in good academic standing.

  • All candidates must wear basketball shoes (no running shoes) and comfortable t-shirts and shorts. For the safety of all of the candidates that are trying out, please trim your nails.  Water will be provided so it will not be necessary to bring water bottles to the tryouts.

  • Candidates must attend all tryout days – exceptions such as illness & injury will be handled on a situation to situation basis.

  • If an injury occurs during tryouts, we will work with our Head Athletic Trainer to assess and determine how long a period of recovery will be required. Any candidate that experiences an injury will be fairly evaluated over the 3-day period from the date that the athlete is cleared for participation.  After the completion of the 3-day tryout a determination will be made regarding their selection to the team.

  • All candidates must be in the gym by no later than 4:15 pm on each day of tryouts.  The only exceptions will be those athletes that require care from our Athletic Trainer and/or an academic commitment. If a candidate has a pre-existing injury that requires care management with our Athletic Trainer, all necessary taping and PT exercises must be completed prior to 4:00 pm.

  • The key attributes our coaches will be evaluating include work ethic, following instructions, athleticism, agility, and fundamental basketball skills (passing, dribbling and shooting).
